The Holy Grail is a very “buggy” pattern and easy to fish. It is a common go to for many western fly fishing guides. It can be stripped behind a streamer, swing at the end of a drift, or just plain dead drifted. Tye it in one of 3 main colors: Natural, Olive, or Black. This is a must have pattern to keep in your fly box.

Here is the recipe:

Hook: #10-16 Tiemco 2487 or Tiemco 2457
Bead: Gold 7/64? to 3/32? Cyclops Bead
Thread: Red Veevus 14/0
Rib: Small Pearlescent Tinsel
Body: Natural Hares Ear Hareline Dubbing
Casing: Pheasant Tail
Thorax: Natural Hares Ear Hareline Dubbing
Collar: Natural Hungarian Partridge
