As I continue through my fly fishing journey it’s not surprising that as my skill level has evolved and I have experimented with different river fly fishing set ups and systems that the techniques that I regard as the “best of the best” have changed.
It’s a bit like asking, how long is a piece of string” when you ask how many river fly fishing techniques techniques there are. There are of course recognized techniques but even when the technique is recognized the problem is of course that each of these designated techniques can legitimately mean different things to different anglers and of course the is a lot of cross over between some of the methods. With that in mind I have grouped a number of techniques together as I have described the different techniques I use.
